Mississippi State Council of Machinists
New by-laws became effective for the Mississippi State Council of Machinists and
Aerospace Workers on August 1, 2010. One of the State Councils mandates is to
"keep the membership informed as to the qualifications of the canidates for in all
organizations whith which the Machinists may be affiliated." The State Council should
prove to be a valuable resource to the Local's Members with the upcoming political
elections in November and any information received will be passed on to the Membership.

New Officers
We have recently picked up some New Officers in the Local. In May we had Ron Eaves from the T-1 Sim Maintenance Shop elected as our new Vice-President and Ivan Armstrong from The T-6 Sim Maintenance shop as our new Recording Secratary. In July we picked up Vinny Harris from The T-6 Sim Maintenance shop as a Secretary-Treasurer Elect who will be replacing Bruce Strickland when he steps down at the end of August. The Secretary-Treasurer position was filled early to allow for a transition time and to schedule attendance to the Unions Financial Officer class in Maryland. Congratulations to our newest Local 50 Officers!
